How to Verify Seedance: Upscaled Output, Mixed Models and Video Fingerprints
Learn how to check a third-party Seedance service for upscaled output, mixed-model delivery and version mismatches using original video files and fingerprint reports.
Published 2026-10-19
Download the original video, check its fingerprint against the claimed Seedance version, and repeat the check across deliveries. A 1080p file does not prove native 1080p generation, and one matching sample cannot rule out mixed-model delivery. Check a Seedance video before trusting a model label alone.
For a price comparison, the following snapshot was checked on 2026-10-19. Prices are USD per generated second at 720p without video input. Only active public routes (status=1) are counted. Original prices are the marketplace's configured official reference prices; the live model card takes precedence.

What does “fake Seedance” mean?
Here, verification means checking whether a service delivers the model version and specifications it advertises. It does not mean deciding whether the scene in a video happened in real life. Two delivery practices deserve particular attention.
Lower-resolution generation sold as higher-resolution output. A service can generate at 480p and upscale to 720p, or generate at 720p and upscale to 1080p. The delivered file has larger dimensions, but that alone does not establish native generation resolution. Upscaling is a legitimate processing step when disclosed; presenting it as native output is the problem.
Mixed-model delivery. Some requests may use Seedance while others use another model under the same label. A successful first test only checks that sample. Price, watermarks, filenames and visual quality do not independently establish the model behind every request.
How APIMaster checks Seedance fingerprints
We extract file and encoding characteristics from original reference videos to build version baselines, then compare delivered videos with those baselines. Checks include container characteristics, encoding parameters, dimensions and frame characteristics. The report shows the claimed version, detectable fingerprint and supporting checks.
These are file and encoding-pipeline fingerprints, not a cryptographic certificate of model identity. Matching dimensions do not prove native resolution, and this check cannot by itself reliably identify every upscaled video or every substitution.
How to check your own video
- Download the original generated file directly from the service. Avoid screen recordings, edited exports and videos compressed by social platforms.
- Open Seedance fingerprint verification, select the version the service claims to provide, and upload the file. You can also check multiple files.
- Read the conclusion alongside the individual checks. Keep the report and the original file if you need the supplier to investigate a discrepancy.
The three outcomes when checking a claimed version are:
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Claim matches | Detectable file and encoding characteristics agree with the selected version. This supports consistency for this sample. |
| Claim mismatch | Detectable characteristics conflict with the selected version. Check the original file, selected claim and any processing with the supplier. |
| Cannot determine | Evidence is insufficient or outside the current reference baseline. Compression, transcoding or unsupported encoding can cause this; it does not prove a fake. |
Example: claimed Seedance 2.5, fingerprint matches 2.0
In the report below, the selected claim is Seedance 2.5 while the detected encoding fingerprint matches Seedance 2.0. The resolution check can pass while the version check fails. The screenshot uses Chinese interface labels; the relevant comparison is the claimed version against the detected fingerprint.

This is a reason to investigate a delivery discrepancy. The report alone does not establish fraud, the terms of a purchase or the identity of the model that generated every frame.
Why repeated verification matters
Mixed-model delivery can evade a single spot check. APIMaster performs asynchronous fingerprint checks after video delivery and records channel verification history. Review results across multiple outputs and dates, including mismatches and inconclusive checks, rather than relying on one matching sample.
For resolution concerns, also request the original generation settings and export history. File dimensions and visual sharpness alone cannot establish whether a video was generated natively at the advertised resolution.
FAQ
Does a matching fingerprint prove the video is genuine Seedance?
It shows that the detectable file and encoding characteristics match a reference baseline. It is supporting evidence, not standalone proof of model identity or a guarantee about future deliveries.
Does “cannot determine” mean the service is fake?
No. Transcoding, editing and unsupported encoding may remove or change the evidence. Try the original export and inspect the individual checks before drawing a conclusion.
Can a 1080p video have been generated at a lower resolution?
Yes. Upscaling can produce a 1080p file from a smaller source. Dimensions alone do not prove native 1080p generation, and a fingerprint match does not independently certify native resolution.
Check first, then try Seedance
Upload an original video for fingerprint verification. To generate a comparison sample, open Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0; Fast and Mini have the deeper discounts in the snapshot above. Confirm current pricing on the model card.
